Jeffrey Maddock

Jeffrey Maddock, age 40, passed away on Thursday, March 5, 2020, at Sanford Health in Fargo, ND, while holding hands with his loving wife after a courageous battle with leukemia.
Jeff was born on January 20, 1980, in Grafton, ND. Shortly after, he became part of the Maddock family. He grew up in Fargo, ND, and attended Fargo North High School where he was involved in many sports. Jeff continued his education at NDSU, where he earned a B.S. degree in MIS. Sports were his passion. He excelled naturally in many; but played baseball, soccer, football, hockey, and track and field in high school. He continued to play golf, hockey, and softball until his recent illness.
Jeff met the love of his life, Kristin, in 2005. They married in 2008 and made their home in Fargo, ND. They created a life full of love and laughter together, and welcomed their son Bryce to the world in 2013. Bryce was the light of Jeff’s life. Jeff was an outstanding father and role model for Bryce. He rarely left Jeff’s side. They were always having fun and being goofy together. Jeff enjoyed being outdoors, so he was happy to take care of snow blowing or mowing the lawn. His little “sidekick” was always right behind helping daddy with yardwork. Jeff was also a natural born handyman, and with guidance from his father-in-law, always had several projects or renovations going.
Jeff enjoyed using his logic and problem solving abilities combined with physical energy while working for the Sparklight “family” in Fargo. He maintained his high standards and received awards for Technical Excellence 9 years in a row. He took pride in his work, and often went above and beyond.
Jeff's unwavering approach to life's surprises has been a grounding source of strength and comfort for all who knew him. He held a humbleness about him in his quiet heart. Jeff may have had strong opinions about situations, but was admirably non-judgmental when it came to people.
Jeffrey leaves behind his deeply loved wife, Kristin, and his precious son, Bryce. He is survived by his parents John and Judi Maddock (Perham, MN), his two sisters Elizabeth (Jeff) Johnson (Perham, MN,) and Ondrea Levos (Hastings, MN). He was preceded in death by two brothers, John Ryan and Joshua. Survivors also include his in-laws, Bruce and Debbie Nordick (Bemidji, MN) and brother-in-law, Kraig and Amanda Nordick (West Fargo, ND). In addition, Jeff leaves behind loving nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A prayer service will be held on Monday, March 9, 2020 at Boulger Funeral Home, Fargo, ND at 7:00 pm, with visitation from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 10, 2020, at St. Andrew Church, West Fargo, ND at 12:00 pm, with visitation starting at 11:00 am.
In lieu of flowers, Jeff has requested that monetary donations be made to the Gift of Life House in Rochester, MN, as they were an amazing show of support during the most challenging days of his life.
