He was baptized on May 9, 1954 in the Halstad Lutheran Church and lived in Halstad until 1965 when they moved to Hillsboro. Mike attended school in Hillsboro graduating in 1972 and then attended UND in Grand Forks. He attended Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Hillsboro and was confirmed in June 1969. 10. Mike taught me how to drive a beet truck and his laid back attitude made it fun and easy to learn. He made me laugh a lot when telling me his crazy stories. Rest easy buddy.

  11. I’m so sorry to hear of you loss! Mike was a good person! My heart goes out to the Stenerson family!

  12. I am down in Arizona this week or I would have been at Mike’s funeral. Mike worked for me (Schipper Construction) for a number of years running a payloader. Mike had a great work ethic and was the best payloader operator I had ever worked with. Mike was always to work at least a half hour early and was so organized doing a tremendous job for me. Not only was Mike a great worker he was someone you could always count on if you needed help with something. Mike loved to gamble, playing poker and going to the casinos where he hit a once in a lifetime jackpot over $500,000.00 dollars. While that was so amazing it was both a blessing and a curse. Mike quit working for me after his big win and I have only seen him once since then. I was fortunate to have known Mike and and shared a portion of my life with him. Mike may you Rest in Peace.
