Grandpa, the highlight of my childhood was the annual trip to the farm. No matter the year, that was what I looked forward to the most. When I was really young, the 4 and 3 wheeler rides with you were my first exposure to adrenaline and I’ll never forget those. You were a great man, and grandfather, and I’m lucky to be a Cossette. I love you grandpa, and I know you’re in a better place now. When it’s my time, make sure the 3 wheeler’s warmed up for me.
Grandpa,
I have so many great memories over the years with you. From the once yearly summer visits while growing up, to standing Saturday dinners during my time at NDSU. While it’s hard to pick just one, I will leave you with this. I will never forget the one time I brought over a Not Your Father’s Rootbeer to the farm. You were interested in wanting to try a sip so I poured 2 ounces out into a glass for you. While I wasn’t paying attention you left me with the sample and took my whole bottle. It was my last one, hahahaha. You definitely enjoyed it and I will remind you that you owe me one once I see you again.
I miss you Grandpa, you will never be forgotten.

Grandpa,
Some of our best childhood memories were our annual trip to the farm. A huge highlight for me was being on a farm full of cats I got to feed dinner leftovers to by calling “minou, minou minou!” One time when I was very young I spied on you from the barn stairs throwing hay out the top of the barn and I couldn’t figure out how you weren’t accidentally tossing the kittens out with the hay! I named 2 of my stuffed animals after two of those cats (pearl and cheddar!) I also happened to be at the farm when we discovered your dear pal Goldie. I helped give her her first bath!
You were a great man and a wonderful grandfather. You played a pivotal role in shaping our huge family that is filled with so much love and respect for you, Grandma and one another.
Thank you for letting us always shoot fireworks out from your garden. I will think of you next time I light one up.
Much love to you and Grandma,
Your granddaughter Danielle

I am thinking back to the many great times I have had at the farm. One that stands out is how you and Amy had me over for Thanksgiving dinner after I had dated Sharon only twice. You made me feel as part of the family right from the start. Then you and Amy had me over for Christmas. I was hooked – I was part of a big, wonderful, caring family. I have very fond memories of all the summer vacations we had at the farm – yes even baling the ditches with you.
You will be missed, will see you again sometime.
Alan
Dad,
I have so many beautiful memories of our family, I can’t even count them all! One of the things I am most grateful for is your kindness and generosity. When someone needed help, you and Mom were always there to help with anything. I don’t know how I would have made it through the harder parts of life without the support from you and Mom. Thank you for always being there for us, without hesitation. I will never forget and will forever be grateful for all you have done for us.
Love you, always and forever.
Rest in Peace, Dad.
Love, Bonnie
Grandpa,
Thank you for welcoming us into your already very large family and accepting us to become a part of it. Will always remember the adventures and good times we had with you at the farm growing up. I know you are in a better place now but will always miss you.
Love, Simon
My condolences to Amy, Bonnie and the whole Family. It was always good to see Leo every fall and
spring since I stored my boat at the Cossette farmstead. Quite a spot. We would always talk crops,
weather and water levels. Rest in peace Leo.
For all the family, especially Terry & Blanche. I just saw this obituary tonight. My sincere sympathies for you and all the many family members of Leo Cassette. The video which I just viewed is awesome. What many great memories and fun times are posted. Your dad was a true man of the land. His horses, the cart to place the grandchildren in and take a ride; His tractor, and all the many special family photos. Your mom and dad were indeed a handsome couple. May he be Resting in Peace, and may our Lord give peace and consolation to all the family members. Your friend, LaVerne
