Albert Arnold Alvarez (55) was born April 2, 1966 to Manuel T and Mary (King) Alvarez in El Paso Texas and was the youngest of seven children. Albert passed away on August 9, 2021 in Corpus Christi Texas. Albert graduated from Bel Air High School in El Paso in 1984, and then attended the University of Texas – El Paso graduating in 1986 with an Associate’s degree in Computer Science. After college Albert joined the Army, was stationed in Stuttgart Germany and discharged in 1989. He moved to the Fargo ND area and quickly became an extended member of the Cummings family. Al enjoyed spending time with the “Cummings kids” playing cards or just sitting around the camp fire at Meadow Lake. Al was hired at Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Dakota and was a computer operator on various shifts. It was here that he met his future wife Ronda. Al continued his military career with the Army National Guard. He was deployed with Desert Storm in 1991 and later went to Costa Rica for a two week mission. Al and Ronda were married December 31, 1991. They made their home in West Fargo and later in Kindred. They welcomed four amazing children into their family – Alaetra, Austin, Arianna and Zoe – whom he loved very much. In 1994 Al’s career changed when he took a position at the US Post Office in Fargo. Al worked various positions and shifts at both the downtown and Prairiewood locations. Al loved to visit and swap stories with his “regular customers”. He was a huge NDSU Bison football fan and could be found cheering them on at the Fargodome or watching on TV. Of course the best games were held in Frisco Texas and Al was fortunate to make one of the trips to watch the championship team. Al retired from the US Post Office in 2017 due to health issues. In 2018 he decided the cold weather was too much and a warmer climate with a beach would be more enjoyable so he moved to Corpus Christi Texas and loved living a short way from the beach. Al made friends easily wherever he went and will be missed by many. Al was preceded in death by his parents, brother Manuel Paul Alvarez, sister Rosita Quintella, nephew Leo Alvarez and baby granddaughter Westlyn Praus. Al is survived by his children Alaetra ( Aaron Davis) of Ray ND, Austin and Arianna both of West Fargo ND, Zoe (Dillon) Praus of Dickinson ND. Former wife Ronda of Kindred ND. Brothers Rosalio (Gina) of California and Gerald (Kathy) of Idaho, sisters Mary (Harold) Stiffler of Oklahoma, and Madeline Perez of Texas along with many nieces, nephews, and dear friends. Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Life service on Saturday August 28 at Boulger Funeral Home in Fargo. Visitation from 12:00 – 2:00, followed by the service at 2:00. There will be a reception following the service at Dempsey’s in downtown Fargo. Burial will be at a later date with full Military honors at the National Cemetery in Fargo ND.

  10. You were such a cute little boy, neighbor, and then you grew up to be a great man. We may have had our political differences but I still considered you a friend & family. You came back to Texas, to the best place, near the ocean. Rest in perfect peace….. your friend & old neighbor, Carmen
