Marc Clausen

January 22, 1992 ~ September 18, 2022
Marc Joseph Clausen was born on January 22nd, 1992, to Dorothy Clausen and Dale Skillings in Minneapolis MN. He graduated from Bug-O-Nay-Ge-Shing High School in Bena MN in 2010. Marc enjoyed working in construction and anything that had to do with tools and heights. He could fix just about anything and if he couldn’t he would try his hardest. He was a kind and considerate man who always opened the door for others and put their needs first. He grew up in the Minneapolis/St.Paul area. During his youth trouble seemed to follow him which led him to his saving grace, Ben Weiss, who loved him like a brother. Ben was the drive behind Marc to graduate high school and a huge part of his life since age 10. In July 2016 he welcomed his first and only son Mason Joseph Martinson into the world. Three short years later in July 2019 he had his first and only daughter Malia Ann Martinson. He lived in Grand Forks ND for several years with his children and their mother. He enjoyed his time with his children more than anything in the world, Marc was really a kid at heart himself. Marc loved his nieces and nephews and would often be found helping them get into mischief, whether it be playing in the mud when told not to or rough housing with them. He taught many of them how to sing ‘Peanut Butter Jelly Time’. He loved his Mama and was always trying to make her proud. On July 5th 2021 Marc was electrocuted resulting in a traumatic brain injury that caused him to become dependent upon others to care for him. This dependency caused his mom to rely heavily on his cousin Marcie Ash (Dundee,MN) for guidance and strength. She was a huge advocate for Marc and Dorothy. He fought hard for over a year but he became sick and became tired in August of 2022 and finally succumbed to his brain injury on Sept 18, 2022 at the young age of 30 at Sanford Fargo, ND. He was surrounded by family and friends during his final moments.
