  1. Dearest Robert,

My forever favorite firefighter thanks for years of giggles and memories. Best volunteer there was. Few weeks ago you were beaming at Night To Shine and gave me the biggest hug. All the things I will cherish for the rest of my life. You will be missed by all. XO Lindsey & Ruby

  3. Rob-O!
I will forever miss you buddy!! I’m going to miss your shy smile, your Firefighter stories, taking you to places you loved to go, especially Savors for a new fire truck or a new CD. I’m going to miss going to the fair, circus, Ribfest, shopping, going to Zorbaz in the summer! You loved going everywhere and anywhere! You were the best sweeper at VTC!! the floors were always sparkling after you were done. I would be working in the kitchen and you would come grab your lunch and I would always encourage you to try something different and you did, I was so proud of you for that! I know you’re watching over all of us! When I see a Firetruck I will always think of you and smile Rob-O!!! I will forever be your “Ashley Bear”!! Love ya buddy!!💕🚒🧯

  4. Mr Merrick,
I remember being with you like it was yesterday. You my friend had a heart of gold and a smile that lit up the room. 19. Sorry to hear of Robert’s passing. We have lots of memories of Robert at the races in Jamestown, there never seemed to be a dull moment when he was around and was always fun to talk to. A couple times he missed his ride home and our fire crew arrange for him to ride home in the fire truck after the races, I think those were his favorite taxi rides! It had been a while since we’d seen you, but we’ll never forget you. Peace and prayers to your family.

But I believe Shirley and her Larry are keeping an eye on him.

  21. Dearest Robert,
It was heartbreaking to hear of your passing. Great memories of hanging out with you in DayHab, at work sites or just walking @ the mall/stores. I recall many years ago going to the mall (around this time of year), you wanted a picture with the Easter Bunny. Well you had the biggest smile showing everyone the free pictures that were taken.
I will always remember your contagious smile, caring, dedication, hardworking person you were. I know you are looking down upon us from a Fire Station or Rodeo.

    Rest in Peace,
    Merralee

  22. Sorry for your loss you were a great guy to work with at the movie theater praying for your family

I have not seen Robert since leaving the Jamestown area however have great memories of him being such a great guy and such a fan of Jamestown athletics. He was the best assistant our football team could have asked for and traveled everywhere with us. Reading the comments of all the people Robert touched makes me smile. Rest easy buddy!

    • Andy I had forgotten how much Robert enjoyed helping out with football and wrestling. Thanks for your kind words.

You always will have such a special place in my heart. I will miss you so much. Prayers go to your family..

  26. Robert,

You were one of my first childhood friends. I have so many memories with you and Roger. A sweet memory that sticks out in my mind is waking up very early on a summer day and both you and Roger were on my porch sitting on my picnic table waiting to play with me. That happened often and since both you and your brother were very early risers, we had to adjust the morning time of when you could come over 🙂 I remember your smile, your loyalty to others, and what a hard worker you were. You were always willing to help others.

I believe being friends with you at such a young age really shaped who I am today and how I look at others. We were not the same in many ways but we played, laughed, and enjoyed each other’s company. I delighted in who you were.

    Roger and Amanda,
I am so deeply sorry for your loss. You were amazing siblings to Robert. May the Lord comfort you in every way.

    Tom and Pam,

My condolences and prayers go out to you during this extremely difficult time. I have admired you all these years and the life that you gave all your children. Your dedication and the way you involved Robert and Roger in our community was so beautifully done. Thank you for letting me be a part of Robert’s life.

  27. Robert, I forever cherish the many memories made with you at all our fun friend functions. You were a true friend. Rest easy buddy
