Paula Rae Larson, beloved sister, mother, and grandmother, passed away in her home on July 22nd, 2023 surrounded by her children, surrounded by love.

Paula Rae Larson was born in Fargo, North Dakota, on May 23rd, 1955 to Duane (Doc) and Mary (Schneider) Evanson. Paula, long envied by her sisters for her natural intelligence, graduated from North Fargo High School in 1973. Following graduation, Paula began working in Café’s as a server, which was how she met the father of her children, Lowell Larson. The two were married on July 15th, 1977. This marriage produced a beautiful family. Paula worked in the retail and food industries, until she retired in 2012. Paula’s real pride in life was her children, whom she loved fiercely. Paula had many hobbies and interests, but her favorite pastimes included Law & Order (all of them!) true crime novels, logic puzzles, and a great affinity for anything chocolate… and always being quick with a witty joke or comeback.

After a decades long battle with Alexander Disease, Paula spent the last year and a half of her life living with her family and enjoying the time she had left on earth. Paula was able to spend her last moments with her children, just as she wished, until she passed on July 22, 2023. Paula is preceded in death by her infant son, Lowell Jr., her brother Michael Evanson, her parents, Doc and Tootie Evanson, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Paula is survived by her two sisters, Robin (Scott) Sauvageau and Dottie (Jeff) Hiller, Rory (Deb) Evanson, many aunts, uncles, cousins, and nieces and nephews, Lowell Larson and their 5 children, Jody (Billie) Larson, Lannis (Andrea) Larson, Miranda (Jarret) Larson-Vossler, Amber (Jon Zimmerman) Larson, and Kimberly (Joel Anderson) Larson; 7 grandchildren, Ty Larson, Elijah Burley, Miley Larson, Lucas Larson, Micah Larson, Tate Larson, Trent Larson; and 3 bonus grandchildren, Leah Stumbo, Brittany Higdem, and Millie Brown.
