Maynard Dahl, 87, passed away peacefully at his home in Moorhead, MN on October 27, 2023.

Maynard touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him. His outgoing and gregarious nature was a beacon of light in any room he entered. He had an unparalleled ability to connect with people, making friends effortlessly and filling every gathering with laughter and joy.

Maynard was born on January 8, 1936 in Rugby, ND to Emil and Marion Peterson and in 1936 adopted by his Uncle Thor and Betsy (Saude) Dahl.

He married the love of his life, Corinne Selland on June 2, 1957 at Bethel Lutheran Church in Rugby, ND. They spent 66 wonderful years together raising their family and taking several memorable trips together with family and friends. He served in the Army National Guard and had a very successful business career.

Maynard is preceded in death by his parents and his sisters Arnell Vicha, Alvina “Beany” Schaan and Mila Hornstein.

Left to cherish his memory are his children, Steven Thor (Pam) Dahl, Jeff (Sara) Dahl and Carrie (Scott) Rensberger, 8 grandchildren and 1 great-grandson.

A celebration of Maynard’s life will be held on June 2, 2024 at Steve’s home in Sabin, MN. We invite all friends and family to join us in honoring his memory and sharing stories of the remarkable man he was.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to your favorite charity in his honor.

    Difficult to believe he is gone. We always said that we were “roommates” in the Rugby birthing center in January of 1936. Two January guys.
    I would like to talk to Corinne at some point.
