Uncle Merle, you will be very much missed. I’m sorry that we did not know you were sick and we weren’t able to attend your memorial.
Merle, I helped cousin Monica clean your house and I was humbled to find that you had kept my letters over the years. I hope I meant as much to you as you were to me. I wish we had been closer and been able to see each other. You were my mother’s only brother and I wanted to know you. I’m sorry that you were never able to write me back but just know I did care about you.
