Dennis’ service will be livestreamed below shortly before it begins:
Dennis Lawrence Jevne, born on the 3rd of April 1940, decided to “call er a day” on April 26, 2024.
Dennis was born in Lansford, ND to Arthur Kenneth Jevne and Myrtle (Espeseth) Jevne on the family farm where he was delivered by his aunt, Flora. During his younger years Dennis loved life on the farm, creating many life long story telling memories with family, cousins, and friends. While on the farm Dennis and his siblings attended Glenburn school house where they got there on horse and buggy / sled. Their education was taught by their Aunt Louise. Dennis and his family eventually moved into town. While there, Dennis attended Lansford School where he excelled academically, in sports, and socially, making many friends. After high school Dennis enlisted in the US Army, serving 4 years, spending most of his time overseas. When Dennis completed his service, he returned home to Lansford. This is when he and Carol Mae Haukedahl, his childhood sweetheart, were united in marriage on Sept 29, 1963. Shortly after, Dennis and Carol were blessed with the birth of their first child, a son Kenneth, in 1964. Dennis, Carol, and Ken made their way to Fargo in 1966. And Fargo is where they would stay. Dennis’ first job was with Silverline boats, staying there for many, many years. In 1975 Dennis said that “all the stars were aligned” after a night out with friends… 9 months later Penny was born. Dennis had a career change, leaving Silverline for Westway Trading in Mapleton, ND. He would stay at Westway until his retirement in 2007.
During his retirement Dennis enjoyed a great many things, but the things he loved the most were his family and friends, with his family being the very center of his heart. Dennis had a deep appreciation and respect for all the years of time spent, memories made, and stories told.
Dennis’ quick wit, humor, generosity, and human kindness set him apart from others. This quiet, simple man with a heart for all he knew and didn’t know, will be deeply missed and dearly cherished.
Dennis is survived by wife, Carol (Haukedahl) Jevne; son, Kenneth Arthur (Michelle); daughter, Penny Jo (Shaun Bruggeman); grandchildren, Taylor, Gaige, Haley (Zeb), Ceely Mae, Sutton Dennis, Ayden, Owen, Korbin, and Crosby; and great grandson, Graham; sister, Virgina Jevne; as well as numerous cousins, nephews, nieces, and friends.
Dennis was preceded in death by parents, Arthur and Myrtl Jevne; brothers, Richard and Ronald; parents in law, Norman and Irene Haukedahl; sisters in law, Norma Jevne and Gayle Bradley; brother in law, Garald Bradley; and grandson, Hudson Jack Bruggeman.
In honor of Dennis, please wear your best flannel and jeans for the service.
A full lunch will be served following the service.

Uncle Denny I will truly miss our long chats over coffee you were one of kind with a funky sense humor and a very kind heart thank you for the wonderful memories that I will cherish forever. Love your nephew Brett Jevne
I have some great memories of Den at the Jevne reunions – he was always fun to talk with because he had great stories and a great sense of humor! My sincere condolences.
Great Uncle Denny, I always enjoyed your humor. Your ability to put a smile on my face and others was effortless. The people around you will miss you greatly. It was an honor to have known you.
It has been too many years since I have seen Denny. I have so many many memories as a young girl going down the street to play with my friend Kenny. Watching a scary movie with a Denny and Kenny, I still remember the movie and I am still scared of an outhouse ha ha. I miss those days on 7th Avenue. I have been blessed to know Denny and family. My prayers and hugs to Carol, my mom down the street, my old friend Kenny, and little Penny.
Dennis was a great neighbor and we always enjoyed talking with him and listening to his stories. He will be missed.
