Dennis Lee Davis, 67, Fargo, ND, formerly of Rolette, ND, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Sunday, April 28th at his home.
Dennis was born on April 24, 1957, in Rolette, ND to parents Ronald & Lyda (Fish) Davis. He grew up in Rolette and lived there until he moved to Fergus Falls, MN in 1989 with his first wife Margie and their children. He moved to Rothsay, MN after he and Margie separated in 2002; their children were already grown and had left the nest. Later, he moved to Tuscaloosa, AL to live near his daughter Jessica, which is where he met his second wife Emily. In 2011, Dennis and Emily moved back north when Dennis took a job with RDO (John Deere) in Fargo, ND. Dennis and Emily separated in 2017, but remained very close friends up to his last day.
Dennis loved working at RDO and being around his work family. He worked along-side his best friend Landon, and his boss and good friend Glen. He had a connection to John Deere since he was young. Growing up, his family owned the local John Deere dealership in Rolette, ND. When his kids were young, he used to give them miniature John Deere tractors each year for Christmas, which they still have and cherish to this day.
Dennis was a kind loving spirit with a great sense of humor, always joking around and making people laugh. He loved his family and cherished gatherings with his immediate and large extended family.
He had a kind, generous heart and was always a supportive listener. He celebrated everyone’s happy moments and was always available to lend a hand. Whether it was moving, yard work, home remodeling, or car repairs, he never turned down anyone in need of help. He had a love for life and made lifelong friends wherever he went.
Some of Dennis’s favorite pastimes were traveling the country to spend time with his children, and spending time with his family and friends. For his birthday last year, he flew to Puerto Rico and Florida for a well deserved family vacation with Nicholas and Jessica. After having such an amazing time with his kids, the trip gave him the itch to travel more. He had been wanting to go back to Puerto Rico for over 20 years after attending a John Deere conference there in 1998. He loved the warm weather, wading in the ocean, and soaking up the sunshine. He also enjoyed going to New Prague, MN to see Christopher and his two granddaughters Isabelle and Aurora.
Dennis loved watching college football and looked forward to the season starting every fall. His favorite teams were the Alabama Crimson Tide and the NDSU Bison. He always enjoyed tinkering with things. He was quite skilled at fixing things and knew how to do nearly any type of renovation or repair project. He helped his kids with many of their projects over the years. He also loved fettuccine alfredo pasta and ordered it frequently when he went out to eat.
Dennis is survived by his loving children: Nicholas Davis of San Juan, Puerto Rico, Jessica Davis of Fort Lauderdale, FL, and Christopher (Nichole) Davis of New Prague, MN; granddaughters Isabelle and Aurora Davis; his first wife Marjorie Larson of Badger, MN and his second wife Emily Davis of Fargo, ND; his siblings: Mike (Barb) Davis, Paul (Sherry) Davis and Lisa (Lance) Mohl; and a large extended family of his aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, their spouses and children.
Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, Lyda and Ronald Davis; his brother, Allan Davis; and his sister Jocelyn Malo.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at the Front Street Taproom, 614 Main Ave, Fargo, ND 58103, on Sunday, May 5th from 1 to 4pm. Visitation will be from 1 to 2pm with the Service beginning at 2pm.

The best neighbor and friend a person could ask for. He will be greatly missed.
I offer my prayers and sympathy in memory of Dennis.
I’m a Mother from across the alley in Rolette who moved there in 1978 with a new son Jim we had just welcomed to our family. As Jim and Dennis grew they became best buddies and friends.
It was a great neighborhood with lots of kids who had so much fun.
I wished I had known that Dennis lived here in Fargo. It would have been special to see him.
I don/t get around very good or I would like to be at his service.
Sending hugs and love.
I was so sorry to hear of Dennis’s passing today. My prayers and sympathies are with his family and all who loved him. May God comfort each one of you as you remember and grieve this loss. :'( <3
I am sad to hear of Dennis’s passing, may he rest in peace in the arms of our father in heaven. I worked with Dennis at RDO equipment, he helped me out often and was a caring and wonderful person while doing so.
