Barbara Lien

We regretfully announce the passing of Barbara Joan Lien age 83 of Moorhead, MN on June 8, 2024. Barbara passed peacefully under Hospice Care at Bethany Nursing Home in Fargo ND, surrounded by her family.
Barbara was born January 9, 1941, in Sisseton, SD to Carl and Myrtle Nissen. Barbara married the love of her life, Richard Marlyn Lien on February 13, 1960, in West Fargo, going on to have 4 children: Laura Lien (Moorhead, MN), Scott Lien (Fargo, ND), Jon Lien (West Fargo, ND )and Julie Tjelle Lien (Thief River Falls, MN), 7 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Barbara was one of the strongest women to walk this earth and we were blessed to have her as our wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She will be remembered for her love and devotion to family, her contagious laugh, her spunk, and her amazing determination and strength.
She leaves behind her husband Richard Lien, her 4 children, 7 grandchildren (Christian, Adriana, Alexandra, Danielle, Allyson, Sheyenne, Lynzie) and 10 great-grandchildren.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents (Carl and Myrtle Nissen and her brothers (Richard Nissen and Donald Nissen).
