Brandon “Brandi” Poitra, age 36 of Fargo, ND passed away on July 9, 2024 in a Fargo Hospital.
Brandon (Brandi to many who loved him) was born on June 16, 1988 to Sandy Poitra of Dunseith. Brandon attended the Dunseith Indian Day School. Brandon had a loving spirit – he made everyone feel welcome and could have a good time with anyone. There was never a dull moment with him! Brandon was proud to be who he was and showed many others how to love themselves, be bold, and accept others.
Brandon is survived by his brother Joseph Poitra of Fargo; Aunt Melinda (Keith) Poitra of Belcourt; Uncles Clifford (Carol) Poitra of Dunseith, Roger (Cheryl) Poitra of Dunseith, and Randy (Geneise) Poitra of Devils Lake; Special aunt Sheila Belgarde; and many nieces and nephews.
Brandon is preceded in death by his mother Sandy Poitra, sister Athena Belgarde, infant brother James Poitra, grandparents Emma and Elmer Poitra, as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Pallbearers are Joseph Poitra and Tre Beston. All family and friends are honorary pallbearers.
Visitation begins at 8am on Tuesday, July 15, 2024 at St Anthony’s Catholic Church. Service to follow at 10am.
