Blake Stack

October 8, 2009 ~ July 21, 2024
Blake’s service will be livestreamed below starting at 2:00 PM Thursday, July 25, 2024.
Blake Byron Stack, 14, of Jamestown, ND, passed away at home in the same way he lived his life; peacefully and surrounded by love.
Blakers, as he was affectionately known, was born in Devils Lake, ND on October 8, 2009. He was diagnosed with Sanfilippo Syndrome along with his brother, Landon, a terminal genetic condition with no treatment and no cure, in April of 2010 when he was only 6 months old. Despite the diagnosis, Blake lived a full life. He first attended elementary school at South Prairie school in Minot, ND where he was a beloved classmate and student. South Prairie was a bright spot in the early years of Blake’s life and they always went above and beyond to give Blake a positive school experience that was as peer integrated as possible, and for that we will always be grateful and remember them fondly.
In third grade, Blake became a student at The Anne Carlsen Center, where Blake would gain an entire second family and home. The Anne Carlsen Center provided Blake a fully enriched life that every parent dreams of for their child. Blake was surrounded by an army of loving hands and hearts at all times where his abilities were nurtured and he was truly loved and appreciated for exactly who he was.
Blake was a pure and innocent soul. He loved the simplest things in life; eating good food as often as possible, especially cookies, cupcakes, and breakfast food, watching trees blowing in the wind, fish swimming in an aquarium, running his hands gently through your hair, and spending time in nature.
Blake had an affinity for animals, and they for him. His cat, Binx, spent many afternoons at home curled up in Blake’s lap and in Blake’s bed. Blake also had a special relationship with his brother, Gabe, who was his constant companion when together, and who he loved dearly.
Blake was able to make countless memories, including a Make A Wish trip to Disney World, a trip to the Gulf shores where he swam in the ocean, a trip to an MPS Conference where he met many kids who were just like him and became life long friends, and a trip to Mountain Rushmore with his brother Landon and his Friends, Ross and Hunter.
Without ever speaking a word, Blake touched the lives of people from all over the world, and from all walks of life. He was truly a blessing to every life he touched. We are so grateful for the village of people who helped us to raise Blake and give Blake the full and beautiful life he deserved.
Blake leaves behind his parents, Ashley and Jordan Froehlich and Shawn and Brooke Stack; 4 siblings, Gabriel Froehlich, and Paxton, Bennett, and Jasmine Stack; 4 grand parents, Mark and Becky Riggs, Wes Froehlich, and Sheryl Stack; Aunts and Uncles, Brooke(Tyler) Farkas, Calvin(Molly) Riggs, Wesley Froehlich III (Jamie Brose), Brei(Michael) Davis, and Tanya Stack; Cousins, Taylie, Jett, and Emersyn Farkas, and Jayden, Ewan, and Liam Davis; and Great Grandmother Kay Riggs, along with several great aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Blake also leaves behind a second family at the Anne Carlsen Center there, where he was truly loved like their very own every day of his life. We are forever grateful for his family there, the second parents and aunts and uncles too many to name here but who we will never forget.
Blake was met in eternity first by his very best friend and big brother, Landon; his Grammy, Jan Froehlich; his Grandpa, Doug Stack; his Great Grandma, Irene Sivertson; his Great Grandpas, Ernie Sivertson, Jim Riggs and Byron Soper, who was his namesake. He also follows several beloved friends, who also endured a life with an MPS disorder, including Ross Davis, Tucker Hurst, Michael Campbell and Hunter Propst.
Blake’s family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Anne Carlsen Center in Jamestown, ND so that more kids like Blake have a chance to live the life of their dreams.
