Mary Casey

Mary Lucille Casey, age 79 of Richville, MN died peacefully Friday October 11, 2024, surrounded in love by her family.

Mary grew up in Spring Valley, WI in a large family of 3 boys and 7 girls (plus mom and dad of course). She graduated from Spring Valley High School in 1963. She moved to St. Paul and found her best friend and lifelong husband Mike Casey. They started their 57-year marriage on September 23rd, 1967. After having their 2 sons Robert Casey and Timothy Casey, they moved and raised their family in Cottage Grove, MN. When the boys were grown, they retired and moved to Richville, MN and met many wonderful people they were proud to call friends.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents Carl and Marie Shafer, her brothers Ron Shafer, Bob Shafer, and Jim Shafer, her sister Jean Nelson, and her oldest son Tim Casey.

She is survived by her loving husband Mike, son Bob, grandchildren Samantha Olsen, Taylor Casey, and Toree Casey and her great grandson Oliver Olsen as well as her sisters JoAnn Brenner, Judy Harer, Lana Anderson, Bonnie Drabowitz and Kathy Shinn and many nieces and nephews.

Mary had several interests that made her our Mary. She loved her daily Sudoku, hanging with friends at the local watering hole, and pulltabs. But everyone knew that her passions were her angels and her grandchildren. Get her talking about angels and she would go on and on. Now that she’s with them, I know she’s happy. God, please love and protect her in your kingdom. Amen
