Cynthia (Cindy) Marie Leingang, age 67, passed away peacefully to her Heavenly home on April 13, 2025, at Aneta Parkview Health Center in Aneta, ND.

Cindy was born in Fargo, ND on March 14, 1958, to Christian and Albina (Baumstarck) Leingang, as the fourth of their eight children. She attended Shanley High School and went on to graduate from Fargo South High School in 1976.

Cindy will be remembered by her free spirit, creativity, and kind heart. She expressed herself through her love of music by playing guitar and singing with her beautiful voice. Her choice in fashion was appreciated by many. Her vast collection of jewelry, makeup, and accessories complimented her beautiful smile. She had the gift of storytelling and an impeccable sense of humor.

For most of her adult life, Cindy struggled with addiction and mental illness. She fostered a deep connection and appreciation for the staff of Aneta Park View Health Center, who often referred to her as “Cindy Lou.” The love she had for both her caregivers and family was evident as she often gave sweet nicknames to those she loved. When her sisters would visit for birthdays, holidays, and Cinco de Mayo, it was always a party! Cindy loved to indulge in a regular Coca-Cola with a colorful drink umbrella.

Cindy is survived by five sisters; Judy Thorstensen, Patty (David) Desharnais, Nancy Leingang (James) Melting, all of Fargo, ND, Mary (Howard) Kenna, Little Falls, MN, Connie (Mark) Ostern, Sturgis, SD; one brother, Chris Leingang, San Diego, CA, brother-in-law, Donald Kenna, Grand Forks, ND, Stepmom, Fran Leingang, Anacortes, WA, daughter, Kellee Myers Trautmann (Maxx), two grandchildren, and ten nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Rita Kenna, her nephew, Andrew Desharnais, and her brother-in-law, Terry Thorstensen.

A mass of the Christian burial will be held on Monday, May 5, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Anthony of Pauda Catholic Church in Fargo, ND, with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Internment will follow at Holy Cross North Cemetery in Fargo, ND.

Cindy’s family would like to thank the staff of Antea Parkview Health Center for their love, support, and care they provided Cindy over the past 14 years; they truly loved her and were her family.
