Michael Dean Ambuehl, of Fargo, ND, passed away surrounded by his loved ones at Essentia Health on April 30, 2025.

Mike was born to Urban and Arlene (Polly) Ambuehl on March 5, 1956, in Ada, MN. Mike grew up in Ada and made lots of friends, Mike wrestled in high school.

Mike and Sheri Jorgensen were married December 1, 1979, in Fargo at the Golden Ridge Lutheran Church and later welcomed 3 amazing boys. Mike worked at American Crystal Sugar for 30 years in Hillsboro until the lockout. Mike made his home in Fargo for many years until his death.

Mike loved watching sports especially football, his favorite teams were the Minnesota Vikings and NDSU Bison and he enjoyed watching the MN Twins as well. He would place bets on those games and watch them at his favorite bars where many became his family (AMVETS and Alibi). Mike was a very passionate fisherman; he spent many summers on his boat and limiting out on the fish he caught. He enjoyed these fishing trips with his brothers, Dave and Bill, and good friends, Chuck and Wayne. Mike had many family members/friends and enjoyed life to its fullest.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Urban and Polly Ambuehl; and son, Shane Ambuehl.

He is survived by children, twins, Corey (Steven Sorkilmo) and Cody Ambuehl of Fargo, ND; grandchildren, Austin, Lexi, and Kya Ambuehl (Shane) Madison, Brooks, McKinzie, Morgan and Jayden Ambuehl (Cody); 3 great grandchildren; siblings, David (Carol Anderson) of Moorhead, MN, Janice Jones of Creston, IA, Rick Ambuehl of Elizabeth, MN, Bill (Deb) Ambuehl of Underwood, MN, Craig (Karrie) Ambuehl of Fertile, MN, and Rod (Pam Hedrich) Ambuehl of Perley, MN; as well as many nephews and nieces.

Mike’s family is holding a Celebration of Life at 3:00 PM – 7:00 PM on May 10, 2025, at Baymont by Wyndham Fargo (1340 21st Ave. S., Fargo, ND)
