Kyle W. Berg

kyle berg

Kyle’s service will be livestreamed below starting at 10:00 AM Thursday, June 5, 2025.

Kyle Walter Berg lost his battle with addiction and mental health struggles on May 31, 2025, surrounded by those who loved him most. He fought courageously for six plus years, enduring six outpatient programs, eight inpatient treatment centers, and over 100 days in the hospital. Despite his strength and determination, he ultimately lost that battle.

Kyle was born on October 28, 1991, in Bismarck, ND, to Mike and Jennifer Berg—just 344 days after his beloved sister, Kayla. He spent his early childhood in Bismarck before moving to Fargo, where he graduated from Fargo North High School in 2010. He went on to earn a degree in Criminal Justice from North Dakota State University in 2015.

During his time at Fargo North, Kyle had a deep love for hockey, and the sport became an important part of his life, fostering friendships and memories that lasted a lifetime.

Kyle will be remembered for his deep and abiding love. He loved fiercely, argued passionately—especially with his Uncle Dave—and found great joy at the family lake cabin, where he delighted in dragging cousins onto the jet ski just to toss them off. His mom was his heart and soul, his greatest supporter and fiercest advocate. His dad was his rock and voice of reason. Kyle shared an extraordinary bond with his ‘sis’, Kayla, that words can hardly capture. His love for his family was boundless. If the love surrounding him could have saved him, he would have lived forever.

Kyle is survived by his loving parents, Mike and Jennifer; his sister, Kayla (Patrick); his cherished nieces and nephew: Noah (5), Rory (3), and Xander (1); his grandmother Joyce; Dee Nordaby; many devoted aunts, uncles, and cousins; his beloved dog, Meeka; and his girlfriend, Nicole, and her daughter, Savannah.

The funeral will be held at Hope North on Thursday, June 5th, with the service beginning at 10:00 AM. Visitation will take place from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM. Following the service, a lunch will be held at Labby’s Bar and Grill.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the F5 Project, an organization dedicated to supporting individuals and families affected by addiction through education, resources, and recovery programs.

In honor of Kyle, we kindly ask attendees to wear casual attire in bright colors.

  2. I treated Kyle like a little brother even though we were the same age. There was a point I was at his house so much he actually felt like a brother to me. I would always tell him he was my 4th favorite Berg 😉 and he would always act like it hurt to hear but he knew I cared about him. He had a great sense of humor.

I’ll always remember Kyle as the wonderfully bright, sweet, funny and kind human he was! He was a great friend and an awesome brother. My heart is with the Berg family and the rest of the community who got to know Kyle’s spirit. He’ll be forever so deeply missed.
