In Loving Memory of Jeanne Olson
February 4, 1946 – June 1, 2025
Jeanne (Ford) Olson passed away on June 1, 2025, at PAM Rehabilitation Center in Fargo, ND, at the age of 79, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on February 4, 1946, to Anna (Heinze) and William Ford, Jeanne lived a life marked by quiet strength, deep love, and unwavering resilience. She attended school in both Fargo and California.
Jeanne was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Dorothy Dubord and Donna Marschke; and her first-born son, Gregory Olson, who passed away at the age of 10.
She married Ronald Olson on March 5, 1966, and later divorced. Over the years, she made her home in Fargo North Dakota, Billings, Montana with her son Matthew; and Minneapolis, Minnesota; and finally settled in Fargo, North Dakota, where she spent the last 20 years of her life.
A two-time cancer survivor, Jeanne met her final illness with grace and courage. Her greatest devotion was to her family—especially her beloved son, Matthew Olson; daughter-in-law, Melinda (Resler) Olson; and her cherished grandchildren, Cullen and Chloe, who were truly the center of her world. Jeanne is survived by her son Matthew and his family along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She found joy in the everyday—cheering on Cullen at hockey games, doing Chloe’s hair and makeup for ballet and pre-pointe recitals, and sharing their mutual love of the violin. Each year, Jeanne and Chloe honored Gregory’s memory with a visit to his grave, followed by a simple picnic—often McDonald’s or Dairy Queen.
Jeanne had a special bond with animals, especially cats, and enjoyed the quiet pleasure of reading. She spent much of her working life in retail—at Von Maur, Macy’s, and later, as a lunchroom helper at Fargo elementary schools as she approached retirement. Her life was made full by the milestones and moments she shared with her grandchildren, whom she adored and loved to spoil.
Jeanne’s memory lives on in the lives of those she loved—in music, quiet moments, and the enduring love she gave so freely.
In honor of Jeanne, please consider a donation to the cancer research organization of your choice—so that one day, we may conquer this devastating disease that affects so many families.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, June 13, at Bear Creek Winery, in accordance with Jeanne’s wishes not to have a formal funeral. Please come to celebrate her life and share stories of how she touched your life.

God saw she was getting tired,And. Cure was not to be,So he put his arms around her,And whispered,Come with Me.In tears we watched her suffer, And saw her fade away.Although we loved her dearly,We could not make her stay.A heart of gold stopped beating,Her gentle hands now rest.God broke our hearts to prove to us,He only takes the Best. Now your in no more pain, We Love you so much Love Dennis & Mary Klocke
