Love my memories of great aunt Esther. My mom, Barbara (Erickson) Petty, had wonderful memories of staying the summers and churning butter.
I knew Esther from Riverview. She was just one of the nicest people to visit with at Riverview. If you went up to visit with her she
always made sure to give you a kiss on the cheek. Rest in peace sweet Esther!

So sorry to hear of Esther’s passing. We knew her from our many years in Hillsboro and Our Saviors Church. A very interesting and classy lady. God bless her memory.

I have such fond memories of Esther from our years as farm neighbors. My mom (Peggy Eblen) and Esther were dear friends for many years and enjoyed spending time together when they both resided at Riverview. I especially loved Esther’s laugh and of course…her flatbread. She’d make an ice cream pail of flatbread for my dad’s birthday each year and he took to hiding the pail because it was so popular! My thoughts are prayers are with you as you celebrate her beautiful life and legacy.
I’ will miss her very much and I still think of her often.
I will always have a special place in my heart for my Aunt Esther. Her laughter was always a welcoming part of her. Some of my best childhood summers included a week at the farm where my sisters and I played with our cousins and helped out at the farm. Esther was a good cook and she always had something for us to do, weeding the garden, picking beans, husking corn, shelling peas, etc. – so much fun! As an adult, playing cards with all of the cousins and relatives was a memorable time of laughter and fun, Esther enjoyed and was good at card games.
Esther left a great legacy through her kids and she will be missed.
