Diane Sharon Meidinger (née Moen), 86, of West Fargo, ND, went to heaven on July 15, 2025, under the compassionate care of Sanford Hospice House and Family.
Diane was born May 18, 1939, at home to her parents, Obert E. and Alice H. Moen. One of five children including a twin brother, Denton. She grew up in West Fargo and graduated from West Fargo High School, where she was active in basketball, softball, ice skating, roller skating, and chorus.
Diane married Jack “J” Meidinger, and together they had two children. Later in life, Diane found joy as a grandmother to Lacey Kay, Brandon Allen, and Jordan Christine, and as a great-grandmother to Nova, Zhavia “Zee,” and KJ. She was affectionately known as “Grandma D”, a name that became a term of endearment across family and friends.
Diane was a fiercely independent woman who thrived on her own. She had a lifelong love of cars, especially large Cadillacs, and took great pride in keeping them pristine. Diane enjoyed arts and crafts, light woodworking, planting flowers, and creating with her hands.
She attended clown school/classes and later volunteered as a compassionate care clown, bringing laughter and comfort to sick children through joy, color, compassion and balloon animals.
One of the great joys of Diane’s later years was sharing music and faith. She owned her own PA system and old-school cassette tape backing track setup (later upgraded to CDs), performing as part of a volunteer trio with friends at assisted living facilities. Though the group was driven more by enthusiasm than musical precision, Diane’s passion for performing was clear, and it became a centerpiece of her life’s journey.
Diane cherished the holidays, with the Fourth of July at Lake Lizzie (Sunset Beach, to those who remember) being her favorite—she loved the fireworks, the gatherings, and the time spent with family. Her home was always a warm and welcoming place, filled with laughter, coffee with neighbors, and the people she loved most.
Diane is survived by her brother “Obie”, son Todd, three grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and many friends and acquaintances whose lives she touched.
A memorial service will be held at Boulger Funeral Home in Fargo, ND, Saturday July 26, 2025, at 2:00 PM with visitation starting at 1:00 PM.
The family is grateful for the guidance of Pastor Art Wood, who will be assisting with the service and for the compassionate care of Sanford Hospice House.

My parents and many other couples were friends in Fargo and on Lake Lizzie with Diane and Jack for years!
My sympathy to her family!

I will always remember dancing on your coffee table, our road trips, and the deep sense of safety and support that only a grandparent can give.
You were always so proud of your style… your hats, jackets, and leather gloves. Your confidence was inspiring as an independent woman without demand, it was purely presented. Your handwriting alone could spark conversations with strangers. You bought your favorite pens in bulk and bent the tips just so, giving your writing the kind of artistry that was unmistakably yours.
As a child, you often told me I had the wisdom of an adult. Those words stayed with me, and they’ve become a quiet push whenever I’ve needed it.
You were my safe place growing up, and now you’ve found your own. A part of you will always live in me.
Oh and I’ll never forget the scent of your home… cinnamon, amber, and patchouli. Oh and I’ll never forget the scent of your home… cinnamon, amber, and patchouli. Pretty sure everyone reading this knows exactly what I’m talking about.
Love Always, Lacey
— Revelation 21:4
