Lowell Duane Regstad left us peacefully on August 27, 2025, at the age of 89 surrounded by family. Born on October 29, 1935, in Hendrum, MN, Lowell lived a vibrant life full of adventure, family, and accomplishments.

From humble beginnings, Lowell traveled the region during his childhood, attending schools in Dilworth, Borup, Perley, and Georgetown before graduating from Moorhead High School in 1953. He kicked off his working career at American Crystal Sugar and Gjestvang Nursery before answering the call of duty in 1958, serving proudly in the Army as a machine gunner, switchboard operator, and security police.

In the 1960s, Lowell married Sharon Lee Johnson and later separated. He embarked on a journey that would see him become a pillar in the construction industry. Regstad Construction, not only garnered accolades for “Builder of the Year” but also showcased his bold creativity as a project manager for Extreme Makeover. As a former president of the Home Builders Association, Lowell devoted over 50 years to building homes and making dreams a reality.

But life for Lowell wasn’t just about work. He embraced every moment, pursuing hobbies that brought him joy, from dancing and flying planes to fishing, hunting, hot air ballooning, and metal detecting. He even added a trophy to his collection by becoming the “Champion of the Year” in sprint car racing at the Buffalo River Speedway! A proud Mason and member of the Scottish Rite, he was deeply involved in a variety of organizations, including 4H, and was known for his shrewd investments.

Most importantly, Lowell cherished his family and never missed a chance to spend time with loved ones, often referring to his grand dogs as “playdates.” His infectious spirit and unwavering love for his family shone brightly, and he consistently reflected, “I don’t regret anything in my life. I was very blessed. My biggest accomplishment was my family.”
Lowell is survived by his children, Debra Regstad, Brad Regstad, Denise Fournier, Kristi (Gary) Jorgenson; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews; son in law, Mark Fournier; and special friend, Shirley Lee.

Lowell was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Olga Regstad; daughter, Carla Regstad, sister, Arlene (James) Gnoinsky; brother-in-law, Marvin Jacobsen; and sister-in-law, Wanda Regstad.
