Kristine Lavon Block (Ness), 37, passed away in Fargo, ND on August 28th, 2025, at her home, assisted by Hospice, and surrounded by her loving family and pets.
Krissy, the daughter of Erik and Tammy Ness, was born November 16th, 1987 in Mobridge, SD. She grew up in McLaughlin, SD, and later moved to Ada, MN where she attended Ada-Borup High School. Over the years, she participated in band, Close-Up, volleyball, basketball, softball, karate, gymnastics, and 4-H.
After graduation, Krissy moved to Fargo, ND, then spent a brief time living in Denver, CO, before returning to Fargo to attend Minnesota State University in Moorhead, MN where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Journalism.
From April of 2015 until June of 2025, Krissy was employed at Drekker Brewing Company where she started out as a bartender, transitioned into a canning line position, and then became head of quality control.
Alongside her full time position at Drekker, Krissy created her own series of articles critiquing craft beer called The Beer Snob. She regularly authored articles for The Good Life magazine from September 2016 until July 2025. She also freelanced as a photographer for family portraits, reunions, and get togethers.
On August 24th of 2024, Krissy married the love of her life, Lee Block, in Lions Conservancy Park in Fargo, ND, followed by a gathering of family and friends at Drekker’s Brewhalla. Together, Krissy and Lee purchased their beautiful new home in July of 2025. Before her passing, Krissy enjoyed decorating her new home, spending her days relaxing on her porch accompanied by her fur-babies Max and Ruby, and surrounded by her beloved collection of plants.
Krissy is survived by her husband Lee Block; father, Erik Ness, Ada, MN; grandmother, Janet Hajek, LaMoure, ND; sisters, Kim (Kory) Ruggles, New England, ND, Katy (Andrew) VanHavermaet, Hawley, MN; four nephews, Kaiden Ruggles, Hudson, Miles and Callen VanHavermaet, and one niece, Reagan Ruggles; her best friends, Laura Owens, Fargo, ND, Whitney Myhra, Fargo, ND, Jenna Lee, Fargo, ND, and Leah Thorson, Chanhassen, MN. She was preceded in death by her mother, Tammy Ness, her grandparents, Marvin and Barbeiece Ness, her grandfather, Gene Hajek, and her puppy-boy, Sprout.
A celebration of Krissy’s life will be on Saturday, September 6th 2025 at Brewhalla in Fargo, ND from 4:00 p.m. – 12:00 a.m on the second floor mezzanine.
