Niloofar “Niloo” Khazrabakht, 31, of Fargo, ND

Niloofar, whose name means lotus flower, passed away unexpectedly on September 26th, 2025. Born in Shiraz, Iran, Niloo immigrated to the United States with her mother in 2014, bringing with her a bright spirit, determination, and a deep compassion for others.

A sweet, kind, and bubbly soul, Niloo was also smart, funny, and carried a little spark of attitude that made her unforgettable. She dreamed of becoming a doctor and had recently applied to medical school – a goal she pursued with courage and unwavering dedication. Despite the many challenges of immigrating to a new country, Niloo earned her degree in Biological Sciences from North Dakota State University and went on to work in healthcare at Essentia Health and Sanford, where her compassion and warmth touched many lives.

Niloo is lovingly remembered by her mother, Mina; her close friends Nym, Marissa, and Jwan; her extended family; and the countless others whose lives were brightened by her presence. She also leaves behind her beloved dogs, Cosmo and Toft, who brought her endless love and comfort.

Like the lotus flower for which she was named, Niloo’s life was a testament to beauty, resilience, and grace. Her light will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
