Eileen Fahnlander

Eileen Mae Fahnlander died October 3, 2025, in Fargo, ND. She was born on May 5, 1927, on the family farm, near Osnabrock, ND to Henry and Janetta Lundeby. She spent her early childhood years creating many memories growing up with her eight siblings and two cousins. The Lundeby family moved to Osnabrock when Eileen was in high school. She was involved in music related activities, school plays and church activities, graduating in 1945.

Eileen went on to attend Aker’s Business School in Grand Forks, ND. On October 26, 1948, she was united in marriage to William J. Fahnlander of Osnabrock. They began their married life in Bismarck, where they resided for 67 years. Eileen was a dedicated stay at home mom to their four daughters. Her days were kept busy caring for family, attending her daughter’s activities and always serving delicious meals and baked goods. Later in life she was employed by the ND State Tax Department. Eileen was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She absolutely loved listening to and singing hymns. When asked not long ago what her favorite Bible verse was, she recited John 3:16 verbatim. It was still her favorite at age 98!

In 2013, Bill and Eileen moved to Edgewood Vista Independent Living Facility in Fargo where she enjoyed participating in a variety of activities.

Eileen resided at Maple View in Fargo for the past two years. Time with family and her four girls was especially cherished.

Eileen is survived by her daughters: Kathy Christianson, Pat (Ron) McClure, Fargo, Wendy (Jeff) Garske, Bismarck, Mary (Terry) Stroh, Scottsdale; seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill; five brothers; and three sisters.
