Thomas "Tom" Irish

June 19, 1964 ~ October 11, 2025

Tom’s service will be livestreamed below starting at 10:00 AM Monday, October 20, 2025.

Thomas Howard “Tom” Irish, beloved husband, devoted father, proud grandpa, and treasured friend, passed away peacefully on October 11, 2025, at the age of 61.

Born on June 19, 1964, in Bemidji, Minnesota, Tom brought warmth, humor, and a generous spirit into every life he touched. Though he proudly served in the U.S. Navy early in life, Tom’s true calling was the love and laughter he shared with those closest to him—especially his wife and partner in all things, Katherine “Kathe” Haman.

Tom and Kathe were married on October 24, 1998, and from that moment on, they embraced a life full of adventure, joy, and unwavering love. Whether they were traveling, trying their luck at the casino, casting a line on a quiet lake, or simply enjoying a sunset together, Tom and Kathe made the most of every moment. Their bond was rooted in deep friendship, shared laughter, and the kind of partnership that turns everyday life into something extraordinary.

With Kathe came her daughters, Lindsey and Hilary, and Tom welcomed them into his heart as his own. He raised them with the same dedication and love he gave his daughters, Brittany and Chelsea. As a father, Tom led by example—with patience, a steady hand, and a heart always open. His guidance, humor, and unwavering presence shaped each of their lives in immeasurable ways.

Tom was known for his quick wit and playful spirit. He loved to joke and tease, always bringing laughter into the room. But underneath that light-hearted nature was a man who loved deeply and gave selflessly. He showed his family, every single day, that they were his greatest joy.

To his eight adoring grandchildren, Tom was “Grandpa” or “the cute boy”—a title he wore proudly, with boundless affection and silliness. He was their storyteller, hug-giver, and mischief-maker, and his memory will live on in their hearts forever.

Tom is survived by his beloved wife, Kathe Irish; his brother, Rich; his daughters, Brittany and Chelsea; his stepdaughters, Lindsey and Hilary, whom he loved as his own; and his niece, Crystal. He also leaves behind a large and loving network of family, friends, and all those lucky enough to have known him. He was preceded in death by mother, Marcia, his sister, Wendy; and his brother, Terry.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, October 20, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Boulger Funeral Home in Fargo, North Dakota, with visitation beginning at 9:00 a.m. All are welcome to come share stories, laughter, and memories of a life lived fully and with great love.

You were our home, Tom.

Your humor, your heart, and your love lit up every room. Thank you for the adventures, the lessons, and the memories. We’ll carry you with us—always.
