Richard "Rick" Briggs

On Tuesday, November 11, 2025, Richard Alan Briggs, age 64, passed away. He was surrounded by his family and the care of HIA Hospice and Caring Hands (24/7 in-home health management).

Richard, “Rick” as he preferred, was born September 10, 1961, to JoAnn and Carl Briggs in Williston, ND. His family moved to Fargo, ND during his early years, and he lived in Fargo since that time.

Though Rick experienced the trials of marriage and divorce with Sally Briggs, they maintained a friendship that exemplified mutual respect. He has three sons, Kristofer, Jesse (Shayla), and Joshua (Irene). He also has six grandchildren, Nevaeha (18), Mylee (16), Novalee (14), Jayce (5), Taliea (2), and Onyx (4 months). He is also survived by four of his siblings, Linda (Daryl), Betty (Terry), Ken (Laurie) and Thomas. He is preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Karen.

Rick was a fun-loving individual who enjoyed getting together with family and friends. He enjoyed a good game of cards.

Rick spent much of his career in the food industry, where he found joy in connecting with colleagues and customers alike. He enjoyed visiting with neighbors and friends. He was a real animal lover. The family dog, Max, was his steadfast friend. He also loved anything to do with wolves.

Rick’s family are so very grateful and would like to say a special thank you to HIA Hospice and the wonderful care he received from Caring Hands – all of which were so caring and compassionate. Rick will most certainly be missed.
