Richard Meyhuber

Richard Dale Meyhuber, 68, quietly passed away after a 2½ year battle with lung cancer. He was surrounded by his family while under the care of HIA Hospice at St. Catherine’s in Fargo, ND, on Friday, November 28, 2025.

Richard Dale Meyhuber was born September 24, 1957, in Lincoln, Nebraska to Heinz and Charlotte Meyhuber. He graduated from Moorhead High School in 1975 and enlisted in the Navy in July of 1975. While serving in the Navy he spent most of his time on the Aircraft Carrier USS America.

Upon leaving the Navy he moved back to Moorhead, MN and attended Moorhead Area Vocational Technical Institute for computer programming. In 1980, he then moved to Houston, TX and worked in the telecommunications field until 2014 at which time he moved back to the Fargo/Moorhead area to be closer to family. He then went to work with the USPS as mail handler until he retired in 2023.

Rick led a very simple and uncomplicated life. Although he had no children of his own, he loved spending time with his nieces and the rest of his immediate family whether at the lake or in the Fargo-Moorhead area. He leaves behind a legacy of being a caring and loving person and always willing to help family and friends when needed.

He leaves behind his brother Robert (Susan) Meyhuber; niece, Julie Henderson (Bobby); nephew, Andrew (Karisa) Meyhuber; seven great-nieces and nephews, Maya and Mari Hanson, Kaydence, Kaytlynn, Konner, Kennadee and Kolten Meyhuber.

Richard is preceded in death by his father, Heinz Meyhuber; mother, Charlotte Meyhuber; two nieces, Hollie & Heather Meyhuber; grandparents, Richard Meyhuber, Martha Schneider, Emil Schneider and Fred & Cora Fosse.
