David Lacher
April 5, 1947 ~ December 29, 2025
David Lacher, 78, passed away peacefully on December 29, 2025, surrounded by his family at Vibra Hospital in Fargo.
Born on April 5, 1947, in Lisbon, North Dakota, David was the youngest of eight children born to Remigus and Eva (Masseth) Lacher. David grew up in Fargo and attended St. Mary Grade School before graduating from Fargo Central High School. He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps, undertaking three tours during his six years of service, which instilled in him a lifetime of values that guided him through the years.
On November 21, 1970, David married Charlotte Remmick at St. Mary’s Cathedral in Fargo. Following his honorable discharge, they made their home in West Fargo, where David worked as a foreman for the City of West Fargo. There he created a lot of friendships that lasted a lifetime.
David lived his life to the fullest and especially enjoyed time with his son, Brian. Some of their fondest trips were to Arizona and planting their roots in Yuma, Arizona where they frequented almost every year. In later years, Brian would take David around on the side-by-side spending time together and creating lasting memories. David will always be known for his loyalty to friends and family and how much he cared for the ones he loved.
David is survived by his son, Brian (Tessa) Lacher; brother, George Lacher; grandchildren, Hope, Kadence, Zaida, Kyenna; and many nieces and nephews.
David was preceded in death by his wife, Charolette; sister in law, Paulette Lacher; parents; and brothers and sisters.
A special thanks to Al and Kay for their friendship and care over the years with David and his family.
