June Kopp, 72, of Christine, North Dakota, passed away Saturday, January 3, 2026, at HIA Heather’s House in Fargo.

June was born on July 16, 1953, in Fargo, North Dakota, to Clinton and Maxine (Kensinger) King. She grew up in Leonard, North Dakota, and graduated from Leonard High School in 1971. On November 21, 1973, she married Alan Kopp. Together they made their home in Christine, North Dakota, where they spent the majority of their 52 years of marriage.

June worked for several years as a waitress at Highway Host in Fargo and later was employed by the North Dakota Barley Council, also in Fargo, as office manager for 20 years.

She had a well-known and cherished collection of salt and pepper shakers, many of which were gifts from her father-in-law. June also enjoyed gardening, caring for her pets, watching birds, and observing the wild turkeys around her home.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clinton and Maxine King; her daughter, Nikki; her parents-in-law, Peter and Otilia Kopp.

June is survived by her siblings: Jean King Perryman of Battle Lake, Minnesota; John and Susan King of Leonard, North Dakota; and Joy and Curt Plath of Elephant Butte, New Mexico. She is also survived by Alan’s family: Gerald (Cleo) Kopp of Washington; Darwin Kopp of Seattle, Washington; Wayne Kopp of Los Angeles, California; and Peter Kopp Jr. of Mandan, North Dakota; along with nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to HIA Hospice for the compassionate care June received during the final chapter of her courageous battle with cancer.

A graveside service will be held in the spring of 2026.
