Loryce Anne Thompson, aged 89, of Bethany Retirement Living, formerly of East Grand Forks, Minnesota, passed away on February 12, 2026. She was born on April 21, 1936, in Crookston, Minnesota, to Lawrence and Leah (Normandin) Paske. Loryce graduated from Crookston High School in 1954 before pursuing a degree in Elementary Education at Bemidji State University.

Loryce began her career as a first-grade teacher in Hibbing, Minnesota. Later, she moved to East Grand Forks, where she dedicated herself to her in-home daycare and contributed to the community by cleaning the Vaaler Insurance Office Building for many years.

Loryce was renowned for her lefse, lovingly sharing with all who appreciated her friends and family. An avid walker, she enjoyed traversing the Dike in East Grand Forks and was an active participant in her social circle, sharing many delightful breakfasts and dinners with dear friends. As a devoted member of Sacred Heart Church, she was deeply involved in both her faith and family life, attending numerous sporting events and theatrical performances to support her grandchildren.

Loryce is survived by her son, Bruce (Beth) Thompson; her grandchildren, Morgan (Anwar) Abeyie, Jack Thompson, and Sophia Thompson; her sister, Janice (Larry) Plante; and her nieces, Jackie (Jim) Mead and Sandra (Renee) Plante and many nieces and nephews on Arvid’s side of the family. She is preceded in death by her parents and her beloved husband, Arvid, whom she married on December 28, 1960, in Gentily, Minnesota.
