Glenn Colleen Herndon (Larned)

Glenn Colleen Herndon, known to all as Colleen, 71, of Perham, Minnesota, passed away unexpectedly on February 22, 2026.

Born in Gilmer, Texas, on March 7, 1954, to Bette Ruth Seago and Arthur Fred Larned, Colleen lived a life entirely her own. She was bold, outspoken, hilarious, loving, beautifully stubborn, and unmistakably one of a kind.

Colleen had a presence that could not be ignored. She filled rooms with laughter, honesty, strong opinions, and impeccable style. A true fashionista, she was known for dressing beautifully, carrying herself with confidence, and living life unapologetically on her own terms. She believed deeply in love and often reminded those closest to her that love is perfection but perfection is not love, and you are the wind beneath my wings.

For 27 years, Colleen shared her life with her beloved partner, Daniel Rebuck. Dan was the love of her life, her rock, and her north star. He was her constant, endlessly loving and deeply supportive partner. He was devoted in the quiet and steady ways that matter most. He delighted in surprising her with thoughtful gifts, knowing exactly the treasures she adored and collected. He took pride in caring for her and stood faithfully by her side through every chapter of life. Above all, he was her best friend. Colleen spent much of her working years in the service industry and in factory work, where her resilience and determination carried her through many seasons. Her greatest accomplishment and deepest pride, however, was her family. She loved fiercely, spoke her mind freely, and rose each time life tried to knock her down.

She found joy in gardening, crocheting, shopping, fashion, and long walks on the beach. She was known for doing things her way and loving her family deeply.

She is survived by her life partner of 27 years, Daniel Rebuck of Perham, Minnesota; her daughters, Paige Renee Glasgow and husband Timothy Carr of Fort Worth, Texas, and Natalie Nicole Perrin of New Orleans, Louisiana; her granddaughter, Allison Colleen and husband Cole of Texas; her cherished great granddaughters, Hayden and Emerson; her step grandchildren, Shinah Noel Coakley and her children Landon and Adyson of Fleming Island, Florida; and Nikolas Shane Glasgow of Warner Robins, Georgia.

She is also survived by her sisters, Monica June Platt and her children Jessica Ann Castillo and Joseph Abel Castillo and his son, Jacob Castillo; Joela Ann Maddox and husband Randy Maddox and son Roy;
and her aunt, Martha Nell Holbrook, whose husband, Bruce Holbrook, is deceased, and her four children.

Colleen was preceded in death by her mother, Bette Ruth Seago; her father, Arthur Fred Larned; her younger brother, Frank Selby; her grandmother, Glenn Ida Seago; and her grandfather, Posey Laban
Seago.

Colleen’s legacy lives on in the strength, humor, style, and fierce love she instilled in her family. She will be remembered for her laughter, her honesty, her resilience, and the way she loved without hesitation.

Her daughters shared these words in her honor:

From Her Oldest Daughter
Momma, you will always be the wind beneath my wings and my first love. You taught me how to adapt and overcome through even the hardest tragedies, how an apology can mend a broken heart, and what
true resiliency looks like. No matter how many times life knocked you down, you always chose to rise.

I once wrote you a letter reminding you that you have a Heavenly Father who sees you as His beautiful child, lovingly created in His image, and that when you truly gave Him your heart, you would find a peace that would change you from the inside out. You always told me to be happy with my lot in life.
Thank you for being the most important part of mine.

After seeing the peace on your face today, I knew that you had indeed truly found Him. While I have tears of sadness, I also have tears of gratitude for the sacred relationship we shared for fifty years. This
is not goodbye. It is simply, I will see you when I get there.

From her youngest daughter:
Mom, I see you in everything. Everywhere I look, I’m reminded of some silly moment we shared – and some not-so-silly ones too. But somehow, you always found a way to turn even the hardest days into something we could laugh about. That was your gift.

I am my mother’s daughter, through and through, and I am so grateful that I truly got to know you – not just as my mom, but as a woman. In knowing you, I came to know myself, because I could see myself in you. And you were beautiful in every sense of the word.

You taught me that falling was never the end of the story. What mattered was how I chose to rise. You showed me strength without hardness, love without conditions, and courage woven into everyday life.
You taught me how to stand up, dust myself off, and keep going.

Thank you for showing me that it was okay to be exactly who I am – to take up space in this world as your child. I will carry your laugh, your lessons, and your love with me always.

I am, proudly and forever, my mother’s daughter.

Colleen will be cremated, and the family will hold a private and intimate celebration of life at a later date.
