Dan was of the finest caliber of person. I will miss his ability to crack a joke in any circumstance and find the humor in everything. He was the best of friends and will be thought of every day.
The empty place within is where your memory will reside. Unfinished, unsaid, and incomplete. I sensed a shift when you left, the transition to a dimension without you. The gentle man with a kind soul, calm and disarming, made a peaceful exit. But like vapor trails in the atmosphere, the unease will dissipate. The path forward is coming to terms with what is and what remains. And in fact there is not a void, as you left behind so much. Your quiet confidence, character, love and respect for everyone; Enthalpy which will keep your spirit alive in everyone you touched.
