Phyllis Ann Hamilton

Phyllis Ann Hamilton, passed away peacefully on September 22, 2026, at Bethany Retirement Home on 42nd in Fargo, North Dakota. Born on May 15, 1945, in Fargo, Phyllis was raised on a farm near Horace, ND. She graduated from Shanley High School in 1963.

Phyllis married Herbert Hamilton on August 26, 1978, at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church. Their journey together took them from Fargo to Minneapolis and then to Green Valley, Arizona. In 2023, Phyllis returned to her roots in Fargo to live with her sister Kathleen.

Phyllis working for Ford Motor Company in Minneapolis, and later found joy in helping others through her work as a house cleaner. She was active in her church community in Arizona, a proud member of Our Lady of the Valley. Her faith was a guiding light in her life, helping her connect deeply with those around her.

An avid puzzle enthusiast and bingo aficionado, Phyllis also cherished the companionship of her beloved dog, Abby, and cat, Mindy. Her adventurous spirit led her to travel to many sacred sites, including the Holy Land, Medjugorje, Fatima, and Our Lady of Lourdes, experiences that enriched her life and deepened her faith.

Phyllis is survived by her sister Kathleen (Curtis) Olerud; sons, Scott and Matthew; sisters-in-law, Betty Rheault and Sharon Rheault; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends in Fargo and Arizona.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Herb; sister, Marie (Bruce) Coryell, and brother Leroy and Tommy Rheault.

Phyllis’ family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Bethany on 42nd for their dedicated care, as well as the loving care from HIA Hospice.
