Elizabeth Marie Mendez, of Fargo, North Dakota, born to Aaron Mendez & Misty LaFromboise, passed away at the age of 26 on October 2nd, 2026.
Elizabeth attended Moorhead Baptist throughout her elementary years. She graduated from Fargo North High School in 2018 and later attended MState, where she graduated with her Associate of Arts Degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences. After attending MState, she continued her education at MSUM, achieving the honor of being on the 2021 Dean’s list. She was working on pursuing her dreams to become an artist and/or art educator.
When Elizabeth became pregnant with her son, Elias, in 2019, she was so excited to be welcoming a little boy into the world. Becoming a mother brought her a special kind of joy. She loved playing with Elias, showing him new things, taking him for walks, and making memories together. She cherished the time they spent together and the bond they shared.
In daily life Elizabeth found joy in the little things. She loved her plants and flowers, she loved nature, creating and making art, drawing pictures, and sketching.
She enjoyed different styles of music and pulling funny little pranks on the people she loved. Her creativity was a reflection of who she was—unique, expressive, and fun. She could light up a room with her humor and leave people with memories they would carry with them forever.
Elizabeth was a beautiful soul with a wild and wonderfully goofy spirit. She was funny, smart, creative, and had a way of making anyone laugh, no matter what was happening or where she was. She had a heart that always looked for the good in everyone, and that was truly one of the beautiful things about her.
We take comfort in knowing that Elizabeth had a relationship with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Although her earthly battle has ended, we believe she is now at peace and free from the struggles and pain she carried here. The final battle is over, and we take comfort in knowing that her soul is now at rest with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
She is survived by her beloved son Elias Jenson; her mother, Misty LaFromboise (Theo); her father, Aaron Mendez; Elias’s father, Steven Jenson; her sister; Savannah Jourdan; her grandmothers, Julie LaFromboise and Debra Mendez; her grandpa Poppi, Abraham Mendez(Terri); aunts and uncles, including Stormy LaFromboise, John LaFromboise, Andrea (Tony) Heis, Isaiah Trove, Jeremy Mendez, and Rita Mendez; her cousins, Layla, Serinity, Gabriella, Amara, Alora, Caleb, Tiana, Kadin, and Dylan; along with many more extended family members, countless cousins, friends, and loved ones whose lives were touched by hers.
Elizabeth was preceded in death by her beloved grandmother, Sharlene Trove; her beloved grandfather, Papa John (David LaFromboise); her uncle, Nathan LaFromboise; her great grandfather, Abraham Mendez Sr.; and her great grandmother, Marilyn Shalloe.
Though her time here was far too short, Elizabeth lived a life that was full of personality, laughter, and love. She was unforgettable. Her goofy laugh, big smile, wild spirit, beautiful heart, and ability to find humor even in difficult moments will be deeply missed by everyone who knew and loved her.
May she rest peacefully in the presence of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, until we meet again.
