Anna was born to Mike and Christine (Schiff) Grundhauser on February 24, 1924, in St. Paul, Minnesota and was baptized at St. Agatha Catholic Church. Anna was given the baptismal name of her grandmother, Anna Loh. In the fall of 1926 Mike and Christine and family returned to the Grundhauser homestead in Stark County.
At the age of 9 Anna made her First Holy Communion and Confirmation at St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Church in Lefor, North Dakota. She was inspired to her Catholic faith by her teacher’s, the Benedictine Sister’s from Crookston, MN.

Ann had the German Hungarian cooking and baking skills that were a highlight of family gatherings. Favorites were Sunday soup, chicken or beef paprikash, bean soup and strudels, fresh baked buns and rolls and a Tupperware full of chocolate chip cookies.
In retirement years Adam and Ann traveled many miles in their RV visiting relatives and friends across the United States. Seeing her grandchildren and great grandchildren brought great joy to Ann.
After her husband’s death in 2005 Ann remained in Dickinson until 2012 when she moved to Riverview Catholic Health Initiatives retirement community in Fargo to be closer to family.

Ann’s warm smile and gracious embraces and hugs will always be remembered. We have learned of the Blessed Virgin Mary’s love for us through Ann. Ann, a disciple of Christ Jesus, now invites us to proclaim the GOOD NEWS OF OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST by the integrity and charity of our lives.
