Anna passed away on Thursday, March 21, 2024, surrounded by her loving family, at the age of 69.
Anna Marie Peters was born on March 17, 1955, the daughter of Ralph and Carmel (Sciumbato) Peters in La Junta, CO. She grew up in Security, CO, and received her education graduating from Widefield High School. While living in Colorado, Anna met the love of her life, Kerry. She was united in marriage to Kerry Knecht on May 10, 1984, in Copenhagen, Denmark, while he was serving overseas. They lived in Germany during his time in the service until returning to the states where they made their home back in Colorado in 1985. The couple moved to Kentucky in 1992 and upon his discharge and retirement from his service in 1994, moved to Hazen, North Dakota, until 2013. To be closer to family, they have made their home in Fargo since 2013.
Throughout the years, Anna loved spending time with her family and enjoyed watching her grandchildren. Another favorite past time was playing BINGO. She also liked watching Facebook streaming and people selling jewelry; she loved jewelry. In the past few years, Anna made an effort to make sure to text friends and family a “good morning” and a “good night”.
Anna is survived by her husband, Kerry of Fargo, ND; her four children – Christie (Chris) Feist of Fargo, ND; Christopher Knecht of Fargo, ND; Rebecca (Mohamed Abdirahman) Knecht of West Fargo, ND; and Jacob (Rani) Knecht of Washburn, ND; and her grandchildren – Keira and Malakai Feist, and Leylahna Abdinoor, Khalid Abdinoor, Sharmaarke Abdirahman, Zamiyl Abdirahman, and Jamilah Abdirahman. Also surviving are her siblings – Elizabeth Peters of Fort Collins, CO; Phyllis Gelner of Security, CO; and Jim Peters of Colorado Springs, CO; several other very dear relatives including her nieces and nephews; and her dear friends – Donny Bailey, Austin Schindler, Theresa and Kelly Busche, Trista Shaikh, Andrea Hanson, Frank Esquibel, Jojo Ramirez, Paula Loewen, and Laurie Parisien.
Anna was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents; her brothers, George Peters and Ralph Peters; and an infant son, Matthew Peters.
