Arlene M. Thomas – age 80, passed away Thursday November 28, 2019, at Bethany on 42nd, surrounded by family. She was born in Bottineau County, ND on August 13, 1939, to Alfred and Adeline Allard. Arlene attended school in Bottineau, ND, where they resided. After beginning her career in accounting, she married Wayne Thomas on March 15, 1962, in Bottineau, ND. Wayne and Arlene met at Stone Café in 1960, where she worked in Bottineau, while he was in town working on road construction. Arlene spent several years in the accounting industry working for companies including Steiger Tractor and HR Block. In her spare time she enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, painting ceramics, going to concerts and comedy shows at the casinos. Arlene was also creative with sewing, loved crosswords and watching Wheel of Fortune. She shared a lot of laughs with a lot of people, and most recently with the welcoming staff and residents at Bethany on 42nd. We know she appreciated everyone. Thank you to Bethany on 42nd and Ethos Hospice for the nurturing family-like atmosphere and care. Arlene is survived by her daughters Robin Barnes, Ronda Thomas, and Rori (Ernie) Carnes; granddaughters, Ashley (Brent Nielson) Thomas, Laci Benjamin, Lexi Benjamin; siblings, Jerome (Donna) Allard, Alden (Brenda) Allard, Merle (Tamera) Allard, Corliss (Glen) Habets, Janice (Lynn Goerger) Friedrich, Mike (Lori Larson) Allard; many additional family members including, her cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Wayne, parents Alfred and Adeline Allard, as well as Frankie and Annie Thomas.

    We have known you and your parents starting in 1976 when we moved to Fargo and across the street from your home. Know that our thoughts and prayers are with you and for Arlene. May she rest in peace.

  2. I am so sorry to hear of your Mom’s passing. I am the daughter of Joyce J. who sat at the table with your Mama at Bethany. We’ve lost our Moms and they will surely be missed! May they rejoice without the earthly restraints in heaven!!

  3. So sorry for your moms passing… It’s hard to see your friends parents pass when you’ve known them too all of the time we’ve been friends. Hugs to you all during this sad time. Now your mom is happy in heaven with your dad…
