Arlo Sandvig

April 2, 1946 ~ June 19, 2019
Arlo Dale Sandvig, 73, Audubon, passed away Wednesday, June 19, 2019 at Sheyenne Crossings in West Fargo after a long, courageous battle with cancer.
Arlo was born on April 2, 1946, the second son to Elner and Opal Sandvig. He grew up in the Sheldon Leonard area. Arlo graduated from Leonard high school in 1964 and moved to Fargo where he was recruited into car sales from working at Scheel’s in Moorhead. Arlo worked at Overvold Motors in Fargo for several years before he opened his own auto dealership, A and W Motors in Kindred in 1976. He owned and managed A and W Motors until moving to Detroit Lakes where he was the general manager of Nereson Chevrolet until his retirement.
Arlo is survived by his children, Rodney (Michelle), Bismarck, Julie Boll, West Fargo; grandchildren, Drew, Hunter, Payden, Tyler; and his fiancé and partner of 22 years, Karin Bueling of Audubon, her children, Todd, Mark and Heather, and her grandchildren, Zack, Abby, Gavin, and Ava.
Arlo is also survived by his numerous hunting, fishing, and golfing buddies that hold him dearly in their hearts and memories, as well as all those that were fortunate enough to cross his path. His kindness, love for life, and the simplicity of his gentle way will live on to all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his father, Elner, mother, Opal, and brother, Rolly.
Visitation will be 5-7:00 PM, with prayer service at 7:00, Sunday, June 23, 2019 at Boulger Funeral Home and Celebration of Life Center, Fargo. Friends, family, and former customers are asked to come share their remembrance of Arlo.

RIP Arlington. Prayers to all.
I have great memories of Arlo. Although I’ve only known him for the past 10 years. He always had his friendly smile and quick comebacks. I loved the way he used to dress for golf in his ensemble . He will be missed by so many but is at peace now. Condolences to all his family and friends.
There was only Arlo Sandvig! As fine a man as the good lord has ever allowed to walk the earth. God bless your soul, you will not be forgotten.
We are so very sorry for your loss. Prayers to your family!!
We sure are going to miss Arlo when he would come to Gary, MN during hunting season, and all of the crazy stories he would tell. He was a great guy. Rest easy “Big Cat” .
Rest easy uncle Arlo.
He will be missed. I always looked forward to seeing him.
I have known Arlo for many years. He was respected for his honesty and integrity. For many years he played in the Luverne member-guest golf tournament. Each year things were pretty quiet until Arlo showed up. Arlo helped my sister Joanne buy a few cars. May God bless and keep him. George McDonald
Karin, we are so very sorry for the loss of Arlo. The lake just won’t be the same without him. He was so kind, always had a smile and big hello when we arrived for the weekend at the lake. He shared his recipe for making hummingbird food and sent me pictures from the night vision camera so I could see what creeped up to feed in the middle of the night. He was a kind, gentle man and we will miss him. When we first moved next door we would see boats pass by in front of your place and everyone would yell, “hey Arlo!” and he wasn’t even outside! Truly a sign of a well loved man!
You were a great next-door neighbor in Kindred. God-willing, we will be again!
Arlo was a great addition to the Leonard class of 1964. My sympathies to his family.
Love you Uncle Arlo😢
