Bonnie Beedy

Bonnie’s service will be livestreamed below starting at 2:00 PM, Friday June 6, 2025.

Bonnie Mae Beedy, 73, of Moorhead, MN passed away on May 26th at Sanford Hospital.

Bonnie was born on August 18, 1951 in Warroad, Minnesota to Harley and Evelyn (Fish) Thompson. She was the fifth of eight children.

Bonnie married Mark Beedy on June 25, 1988 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Moorhead, MN. Mark embraced Bonnie’s children, Shane and Tessie Raymond, as his own – even bringing them along on the couple’s honeymoon at Westwood Resort on Rush Lake, where the family would go on to spend many more summer vacations. Bonnie and Mark welcomed two daughters, Cassie and Katie, in 1990 and 1995, respectively.

She had a number of careers, notably as a home daycare provider and elementary school paraprofessional, but her greatest achievement was her family. Bonnie loved her people fiercely and unconditionally and would do anything to support her children and grandchildren. From staying at Moorhead High School well past midnight sewing costumes for theatre productions to streaming baseball games and lacrosse matches across the country, being a part of their activities was one of the greatest joys of Bonnie’s life.

Bonnie was an extraordinary artist and baker and loved passing those gifts on to the family, including painting elaborate murals in the girls’ rooms, teaching them to sew, baking treats with family, and making sure everyone had more than enough homemade chocolates at Christmas time.

Bonnie is survived by her loving husband Mark; children, Shane (Emily) Raymond, Tessie (Chris) Schatz, Cassie (Andy) Dingmann, and Katie (Isaac Lovdahl) Beedy; and six grandchildren: Caiden and Dylan Schatz; Maren, Hunter, and Jesse Raymond, and Antoinette Dingmann. She is also survived by her brothers, Warren (Carol) Thompson, Glen Thompson, Don (Ardis) Thompson all of Warroad, MN; and her sisters, Shirley Nelson of Grand Forks, ND, Wanda (Paul) Rutherford of Euclid, MN, and Sue Thunder of Buffalo Point, Manitoba, as well as many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, brother Leonard Thompson, mother-in-law Antionette Beedy, and two precious grandchildren who were unable to make it Earth-side.

Bonnie will be remembered for not only her strong will and stubborn attitude, but also her enormous heart and wonderful sense of humor. She welcomed anyone who walked through the door like they were family, offering a cup of coffee and something to eat, usually something freshly baked. She loved her daycare kids, her children’s friends, and eventually their spouses as if they were her own.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be made to the organization of your choice focusing on cancer research and treatment.

  3. My thoughts and Prayers are with all of Bonnie’s family. I was able to watch the service through the livestream. Thank you for this. I graduated with Bonnie in 1969 from Warroad High School and shared an apartment when we went to school in Thief River Falls following high school. We have lost contact over the years but it was so special to read about her love for her family, children and grandchildren and what she loved to do and was busy with over the years. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

  4. So sorry for Bonnie’s family loss. My family has the pleasure of being close neighbor to the Beedy family for generations.
I was able to watch the service on the internet live. I would like to plant a tree on their family farm as a memorial for Bonnie’s
memory. When the family is ready they can chose one from our nursery.
