Bonita (Bonnie) Field, 82, passed away at Bethany on University in Fargo on August 9, 2025. She was born November 8, 1942, in Grafton, ND to Helmer and Bernice Field. She attended school in Grafton and graduated from Steward Beauty School in Sioux Falls, SD.

She had many hobbies: a large flower garden, attending movies, playing board games, and puzzles. She was a lover of animals and wildlife, especially cats and pandas. She was passionate about conservation of the earth and nature.

She was a breast cancer survivor, 20 years into remission. She belonged to the Red Hats and Sons of Norway. She was a friendly social person with lots of friends. She made them anywhere she went with her caring personality. Her true passion was sewing quilts for friends, family, and Project Linus. She retired from her employment at the University of Washington and moved back to ND.

She is survived by her daughters Carrie Dothage and Dawn Duff; two grandchildren, Brianna (Robby) Holland and Kasper Geroux; two great grandsons, Ryder and Brayden, all from Washington State; and her sister Lynda Neuman, Wahpeton, ND; brother, Jim Field; niece, Janessa Berndt; and nephews, Darrin Berndt and Ryan Berndt.

Her favorite saying was tootle-loo when she said goodbye.

She is preceded in death by her parents and brother-in-law Ray Neuman.

  3. Bonnie was petite but had a positive and popular personality! May her family rest in the Peace that passes human understanding , that is the Peace from the Prince of Peace;, The Lord Jesus Christ.

    • My sister was 5 grades ahead of me so I didn’t know many of her classmates but was fun to hear your words, she said she was 5 feet and 1/2 inch, she always added that! She had a great sense of humor, thank you! Prayers also.
