Callie Nelson Burns
10/31/1984 – 4/13/2025

Lady Callie Nelson Burns was a curious and mystical woman, hailing from Fargo, Grand Forks, Moorhead, and yes even Tipperary, Ireland. She loved heavy metal, hard rock, punk as well as 80s and 90s pop music; Queen, Led Zeppelin, Sonata Arctica and Type O Negative to name a few. Always busy with the next task, Callie thrived on spending time and creating great memories with her family. Callie truly one day wanted to be able to live fully in Ireland; she was very close to her goal and her family will continue the tradition of going to Ireland to pay her respects and enjoy the beauty that she fell in love with. Her best friend and biggest fan was her brother Will, who got her into alternative music/lifestyle from an early age. She was very strong until the very end, she wanted to spend as much time with her family as humanly possible, and we should all respect her for that. We hope she made it to the emerald isle in the great beyond. She is now with her papa whom she loved the very most and talked about ceaselessly; she was his “gem”.

Callie is preceded in death by her father, Will Burns.

She survived by her children, Nate, Ella, Dakota, Paddy, Jada, Mara, and Nina; husband, Jacob; mother, Janelle; and brothers, Will and Luke.

  1. Callie you left a lasting footprint in my heart. Your love for this little island was infectious. At times when I gave up on it, you reminded me how beautiful it truly is. Every time I hear the song She Moves Through The Fair it will remind me of you. Some day we will sing it together among the clouds.

  2. I never met you Callie but I know from your brother Wil, you were an amazing treasure in this world. I have no doubt you touched many people with your smile. Rest in peace knowing your family and friends are extremely thankful for knowing and loving you.

  3. Callie was my cousin who I loved with all my heart. I got to see her the weekend before she passed away and I will remember our time together for the rest of my life. She is with her dad now, my uncle and that is all she talked about, I know she is completely happy and in no more pain. Callie I love and will miss you always. ❤️❤️

  4. Jake I’m terribly sorry for your loss. Feels like you weren’t given enough of the good times before being beset by ill fortune. My condolences also to her beautiful children, it is a life changing event losing a parent, an emotional memory one will never forget. I only ever met callie a handful of times but we had spent years corresponding. She left us a week before my brother yet I’m only finding out now. She struggled with god only knows pain, the ilk nobody would wish upon their worst enemy.
