Carol Currie

Carol Currie passed away on Friday, December 13, 2019, at Bethany On University with her husband by her side.
Carol Eleanor Nygard was born on December 19, 1943, to Floyd and Dorothy (Giddings) Nygard. She was raised on the family farm near Kindred, attended school at the Nygard country school through 8th grade, and graduated from Kindred High School in 1961.
Carol attended Valley City State College before marrying Ervin Ganfield in 1963, and together, they had one son, Paul. They later divorced. In 1988, she married H. Allan Currie.
Carol lived in West Fargo most of her adult life and worked at Fargo Paper Company/Cole Papers in Fargo for 29 years. She spent her free time traveling to participate in square dances, sewing (especially square dance clothes) along with quilting and many types of needlework. She was very artistic and crafty and sold Artex paints back in the 1970s making countless beautiful tablecloths, bedspreads, wall hangings, and Christmas decor. She also liked doing crossword puzzles. She was a longtime member of Faith Lutheran Church of West Fargo.
Carol is survived by her husband, Al; her son, Paul (Christina), and her granddaughter, Heather, of Rochester, MN; her stepsons, Shawn (Kumiko) Currie and their sons, Joshua and Jacob, of Coral Springs, FL, and Scott Currie of Walcott, ND; her sisters, Eileen Vangsness Morrison of Brea, CA, and Kristi (Curt) Leach of Dilworth, MN; several nieces and nephews; and her special friends, Curt and Rosie Vanek.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers-in-law, Gaylord Vangsness and Joe Morrison.
In lieu of flowers, donations appreciated for a tree to be planted in Elmwood Park.
You will be deeply missed by your family and friends. My deepest condolences to your family 💔🙏.

I was so sorry to hear of your loss. My prayers are with you and your family. I enjoyed getting to meet both of you through going to square dancing. It is always hard to lose someone you love but the thought of them being with Our Lord and Savior gives us peace in knowing we will be reunited with them someday. Know my thoughts are with you Al and May God bless you and give you peace.

May the good Lord bless you and your family, Carol. Carol was the kindest person to me while I was in High School . She will always be remembered.
