Charlotte was born on July 19, 1936 in Fargo, ND to Florence and Arthur Arneson. She attended grade school at St. Anthony of Padua and graduated from Shanley High School in 1954. Charlotte worked as an operator for many years at Northwestern Bell before she married Marvin Highness on January 31, 1964. They resided in Fargo, where they raised their four children and over the years, were foster parents to many, many children. In August 1978, the family moved to Hawley, MN where all four children graduated high school. Charlotte remained there for several years until after Marvin's death, she moved back to the Fargo Moorhead area. Charlotte had a long career at St. Vincent de Paul that she loved. She initially started out as a volunteer and cashier, but was later asked to become the manager as well as a caseworker to help those in need. An indomitable spirit; she had a tremendous capacity to help and to love others. Charlotte loved knitting, crocheting, and baking. She made hundreds of shawls and blankets to give away to patients at Roger Maris Cancer Center. She was also a champion for helping mothers and children in need. Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents; husband Marvin; brother: Richard Arneson; grandson: Joshua Highness and survived by her four children: Richard (Susan), Paul (Missy), Kari (Gene Schjerveim) and Kelly (Charles Cooper), 14 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and 2 great-granddogs.
