Chris passed away peacefully at Essentia Hospital with his family and many friends by his side.
Chris was born to Mary and Spencer Hildre in Fargo, ND where he graduated from Fargo South. He continued his education at the University of North Dakota earning a degree in finance. He was a proud member of Phi Delta Theta.
Upon graduation he moved to Winter Park Colorado where he worked at Devil’s Thumb Resort and enjoyed the ski life. Later he returned to Fargo and was employed at Blue Cross/ Blue Shield of North Dakota.
Chris was a very active person golfing, skiing, fishing, motorcycle riding, and walking. The thing he loved the most was spending time with the loves of his life, his niece Hattie and nephew Hayes. He was a kind man with a big smile and loved by all who knew him. No matter the situation he would say “it’s fine”.
Chris was preceded in death by his uncle Frank Olmstead, his grandparents Frank and Annabelle Olmstead and Marvin and Charlotte Hildre.
He is survived by his parents, Mary and Spencer Hildre (Fargo), brother, Nate (Ali), niece, Hattie and nephew, Hayes Hildre (Lake Elmo), Uncles and Aunts, Scott (Miriam) Hildre, Stephanie (David) Sateren, Richard (Debbie) Olmstead, Laurie (John) Santangelo, cousins, Craig (Katie), Grant (Tera), Josh (Jenni), Jessica (Adam), Charlotte (Shane), Toby (Brandon), Chad (Cynthia), Kim, Scott and a multitude of friends.

I am so heartbroken for you…. There are simply no words to express how sorry I am for your loss. Two things that I will always remember — Chris’ smile and how good he and Nate were to Jeff when we moved into the neighborhood. May your many memories bring you comfort at this time. Big hugs to everyone and sending extra prayers your way.
Chris was a hockey teammate and friend of my son, Sean. Our family loved Chris! What a kind, fun, caring guy – good manners and a great smile.
