Dennis K. Czichotzki

June 27, 1958 ~ June 11, 2024
Dennis K. Czichotzki, age 65, died Tuesday, June 11, 2024, in Bismarck at the Sanford Medical Center.
Dennis was born on June 27, 1958 in Fargo, ND, to Marvin and Darlene (Lomsdalen) Czichotzki. He graduated from Fargo South High School in 1976. After graduation, Dennis enlisted in the Marine Corps and faithfully served for four years. During his time in the Marines, Dennis was stationed at Camp Lejeune, NC and in Okinawa, Japan. Once Dennis discharged from the Marines he moved to Bismarck, ND, where he made a life and worked as a ND 911 dispatcher for 30 years before retiring. Dennis was a highly active member of the AMVets Post 9 in Bismarck and served in the Color Guard for over 20 years primarily as a rifleman and photographer. Dennis was also an officer on the trustee board for the AMVets, he was their community service officer, and served as the AMVets Historian. Dennis was valued by many friends at the AMVets and will be lovingly remembered as the one who always teased other service branches – especially his brothers and sisters in the Navy.
During his free time, Dennis enjoyed camping, going to Nascar races, World of Outlaw sprint car races, or just watching whatever race he could find on TV. He also had an incredible gift for woodworking, often spending time making model cars, trains, semi’s, and toy boxes for his nieces and nephews. Dennis also enjoyed collecting model military aircraft, and had many displayed in his home. Dennis was very tech savvy, and was relied upon by his Bismarck friends to take care of all their computer and technology needs.
Dennis will be lovingly remembered for his quick wit, fun-loving ability to tease anyone, and for his pride in his service in the Marines. Semper Fi.
Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Darlene, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He is survived by two brothers and a sister, Larry (Colleen) Czichotzki, Fargo, ND, Wanda (Czichotzki) Swenson (Bruce), Garfield, MN, and Brian Czichotzki, Fargo, ND; two nieces and three nephews, Emily (Czichotzki) and Kevin Kuechle, Christopher Czichotzki, Kendra Swenson, and Marshal Swenson; a great niece, Lindy Kuechle and one great nephew, Henry Kuechle.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the AMVets Post 9 Color Guard in Bismarck, ND.
