Dolores “Dee” Highness, aged 90 years, passed away peacefully on Tuesday April 15th, 2025, at Bethany Retirement Living in Fargo, ND. Dee was born on March 31st, 1935, in Leonard, ND, to Lawrence and Norma Baarstad. She grew up on their family farm in Leonard, and graduated from Leonard High School in 1953. Soon after graduation, Dee married Ronald Dittmer, also a resident of Leonard, and they raised three children in West Fargo, ND. In her second phase of life, Dee was remarried to Earl D. Highness in 1984, and they shared a home in West Fargo until his passing in 2003. She is survived by her brother, Marvin Baarstad, and his family; her three children, Todd Dittmer, Greg Dittmer, and Kari Watkins; and her six grandchildren, Joe Dittmer, Jon Dittmer, Silas Dittmer, Bridger Dittmer, Nina Dittmer, and Jami Watkins.
The family will hold a celebration of Dee’s life this coming summer for relatives and close friends.
