Remembering the life of Don Bjorklund Don passed away on January 24, 2021 at the Sanford Hillsboro Medical Hospital, surrounded by his family. Donald Allen Bjorklund was born on January 21, 1939, the son of Ansgar and Clara (Moen) Bjorklund in Hillsboro. He was baptized and confirmed at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Hillsboro. Don was married to Arliene “Corky” Wilson on August 14, 1959. The couple made their home in Hillsboro where they raised their three children. Don worked for Traill County maintaining roads, drove truck for Midwest Motor Express, and drove School Bus for Hillsboro. Don is survived by his wife, Corky; his children – Jode (Brad) Sorum of Hillsboro; Stacy (Tony) Ernst of Hillsboro; and Todd Bjorklund of Kent, WA; his grandchildren – Blake, Brooke, Lee, Austin, Katilyn, and Emily; step-grandchildren – Kyle, Blaine and Tyler Ernst; his great-grandchildren – Lola, Jackson, Weston, Boden, Lemmy, Evy, Otto and Noah; and his brother, Dan (Julie) Bjorklund of Hillsboro. Don was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers – David and Dale Bjorklund; his grandson, Brian Sorum; and his nephews – Tyrone, Seth, and Matthew. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be given to a charity of choice or Arnegard Cemetery. A private family service will be held at 1 PM on Thursday, January 28, 2021 at Wildeman-Boulger Funeral Home in Hillsboro. The service will be live streamed on the funeral home website. Burial will follow at the Arnegard Cemetery near Hillsboro.

  2. As all of Don’s family knows, it is rare that I am at a loss for words. We wish that all of the family may find peace and comfort in their faith, family and friends. I am so glad Todd got home when he did. We will miss Don, as will many others. RIP, dear friend.

  5. A memory of Don, he was grading roads and don’t recall how we got talking but before I knew it I was on our 4-wheeler with a small drag section behind it breaking up the lumps on the side of the road. He had our roads looking good. A nice man! Nancy and Wayne Dickhoff

  11. When Todd mentioned that Don always thought “if you are going to do it do it right” my first thought was
    that is exactly how I always felt Don looked at life. It could be seen in his woodworking. All good memories of Don.
