Donnabell Clara (Shuler) Roberson
Passed away peacefully to be with the Lord on Friday, September 26, 2025, around 10:00am surrounded by her daughter Kathy and son-in-law, Tom along with Pastor Richard at Hillsboro Medical Center at the age of 87. She took her last breath during a conversation about salvation and how Jesus Christ came to save all sinners. She was a devoted Christian who spent most of her life ministering and helping those to come to the Lord Jesus Christ. She was a firm believer in salvation and the Bible. She devoted her life to dedicating herself to prison ministry and helping those in need.

She was born on March 25, 1938, in Monona County, St. Clair township in Ute Iowa to Herbert Carl Jahn (farmer) and Clara Nancy Schwingdorf (housewife). She spent her childhood growing up on a farm and later moved to Fort Collins, Colorado where she spent her teenage years. She grew up with her three other sisters, Norma, Elaine and Nancy.

She soon met Donald Shuler in Colorado where they were married and raised four children, Kenneth Lee, Dennis Cory, Kathy Lou, and Donald Steven Shuler. She worked as a seamstress for many years and later worked caring for elderly in their homes. She was a loving mother to all her family. She worked very hard all her life devoting everything she had to offer in love to her family, friends and helping others.

During the past five years, she spent the rest of her life in the care of her loving daughter Kathy and family in North Dakota. Her greatest compassion and desire in life was for Jesus Christ and ministering the word of salvation to all while caring for those in need. She was a loving mother and greatest blessing from the Lord as she touched everybody’s life. She will always be loved and remembered so deeply by her family. Her legacy will always live on through her faith in the Lord and in the lives of those who knew her.

Her most cherished song was “Blessed Assurance.”

“Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine!
Oh, what a foretaste of glory divine!
Heir of salvation, purchase of God,
Born of His Spirit, washed in His blood.

This is my story, this is my song,
Praising my Savior all the day long;
This is my story, this is my song,
Praising my Savior al the day long;
This is my story, this is my song,
Praising my Savior all the day long.

Perfect submission, perfect delight,
Visions of rapture now burst on my sight;
Angels, descending, bring from above
Echoes of mercy, whispers of love.

This is my story, this is my song,
Praising my Savior all the day long;
This is my story, this is my song,
Praising my Savior all the day long.

Perfect submission, all is at rest,
I in my Savior am happy and blessed,
Watching and waiting, looking above,
Filled with His goodness, lost in His love.”
