Edwin "Ed" Osowski

September 16, 1934 ~ December 30, 2020
Edwin “Ed” Joseph Osowski, died on Wednesday, December 30th, 2020 at age 86.
Ed was born in Marshall Township to Leon and Cecelia (nee Smith) Osowski on September 16, 1934. He was one of 9 siblings growing up on the family farm near Stephen, Minnesota. In the late 1950s, he served in the U.S. Army 97th Anti-Aircraft Artillery Unit achieving the rank of Spec. 4, receiving several awards for marksmanship. Upon returning home, he was able to buy the family farm where he settled. Eventually, when living on the farm was no longer feasible, Ed moved with his wife and two children to Grafton, North Dakota in 1976.
Besides being a farmer, he was also a pilot, and rural letter carrier. His unofficial titles included: plumber, electrician, roofer, painter, carpenter, and mechanic. His work on the farm prepared him well in life as he knew a little about many different topics.
His hobbies were hiking in nature and enjoying wildlife, but he preferred the quiet life at home with his family. This quality made him ideally suited for his most important titles of husband and father.
Ed was preceded in death by his father Leon, mother Cecelia, brother Francis “Frank”, three sisters: Gertrude Jopp, Blanche Rocksvold, and Helen Jensen.
Ed is survived by his wife of nearly 50 years, E. Gail (nee Scarlett) Osowski, (ND), his daughter Heather Osowski (ND), his son Clint Osowski (FL), sister Marlene (Owen) Graupe (ND) and his true love, Morgie, the family dog.
A private service will be held for immediate family with interment at the Fargo National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation to fund research, novel treatments, and ultimately find a cure for Parkinson’s Disease. www.michaeljfox.org

I recall your visits to the farm where Ed’s background led to many enjoyable conversations. It was great to have one extended family member who brought a depth of understanding about the farm lifestyle and its many ups and downs. He will be missed.
